What We Believe

Doctrinal Statement
(What We Believe)

We believe, that the bible is the inspired (infallible) word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

We believe, in One God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipresent.

We believe, that He was revealed to us as father in Creation, as Son in redemption, and as the Holy Ghost in the church.

We believe, that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell.

We believe, in the Virgin Birth, Jesus was both human and divine, He was God manifested in the flesh.

We believe, in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

We believe, that He ascended on high and sent his spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and on those who diligently seek him today.

We believe, in BAPTISM in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, with speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth.

We believe, in a holy and sanctified life.

We believe, in divine healing, communion and foot washing.

We believe, also in the glorious catching away (the rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take his people to heaven.

Our chief Aim: is to glorify our savior, who gave himself for us that he may redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works, We believe in paying tithes and giving free will offerings according to Malachi 3:8-11.

Having been led, as I believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior, and on the profession of my faith, having been baptized in the Name of Jesus, (according to Acts 2:38), I do now, in the presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into Covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.

I engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Ghost to walk together in Godly love, to strive for the advancement of the church, in knowledge, Holiness, and comfort: to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain it's worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrine; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and to spread the gospel through all nations.

I also engage to maintain family and secret devotions, to religiously educate my children, to seek the salvation of my kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in my dealings, faithful in my engagements, and exemplary in my behavior; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger, to abstain from the sale of, and use of, intoxicating drinks as a beverage, to be zealous in my efforts to advance the Kingdom of our Savior.

I further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort and stir up each other unto every good word and in brotherly love, to aid one another in sickness and distress, to cultivate Christian courtesy in feelings, speech, and sympathy, to be slow to make offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior and to secure it without delay.

I moreover engage that when I leave this place I will, as soon as possible unite with some other church where I can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.

What The Bible Teaches About Water Baptism In The Name Of Jesus

Water Baptism
There is only one Lord, one faith and one baptism.  (Ephesians 4:5) There is only One Bible Way to be baptized.

Water: Can any man forbid water that these should not be baptized? (Acts 10:47)

MUCH WATER: John also was baptized at Aenon- because there was much water there (John 3:23)

INTO THE WATER:  And they went both down into the water, Both Phillip and the eunuch: and he baptized him. (Acts 8:39)

OUT OF THE WATER: They come up out of the water. (Acts 8:39)

BURIED IN THE WATER: We are buried with Him by baptism into death. (Romans 6:4)

PLANTED IN THE WATER: We have been planted together in the "likeness" of His death. (Romans 6:5)

Jesus said: "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16) Peter said there were 8 saved by water in Noah's time- the like figure even baptism doth also now save us.(I Peter 3:20,21)

Peter having the keys to the Kingdom said,"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins." (Acts 2:38) Since baptism is important to salvation and that immersion and not sprinkling is the bible method, don't you think you should be baptized right before it is too late?

Jesus Taught- "Repentance and remission of sins should be preached in HIS name beginning at Jerusalem.  LUKE 24:47

Peter Obeyed- "Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins."  Acts 2:38,39

Samaritans- ..."They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."  Acts 8:16

Gentiles Were Commanded- "He commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."  Acts 10:48

No Other Name For Salvation- "...There is none other name under heaven whereby we must be saved."  Acts 4:10-12

Everything Done In Jesus Name- "Whatsoever you do in word or in deed. Do all in the name of the Lord Jesus." Colossians 3:17

The above scriptures are not given to refute Matthew 28:19 where Jesus told the apostles to baptize in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. They merely show the command was interpreted and obeyed by them.

The apostles knew what most religious leaders of today fail to recognize. First: That the Lord Jesus Christ is the family name. (Ephesians 3;15) Second: That the fullness of the Godhead (Deity or God) dwelleth bodily in Christ. (Colossians 2:9)

They knew the name of the Son was Jesus. (Matthew 1:21) They knew that the Son came in the Father's name. (John 5:43) They also knew that the Holy Ghost was the Spirit of Christ  and  would come in Jesus name. (John 14:26)

The name Jesus means Jehovah, Salvation. (Faussets Bible Encyclopedia, Page 359)
